The last month +

Has been busy, sort of.

I have been doing lots of knitting, lots of wedding planning, and lots of not going out being social.

Results?

1. First pair of socks

Pattern: Universal toe up sock formula (kind of)
Yarn: Hazel Knits Artisan Sock yarn in color Chocolatier
Verdict: I like them enough for a first sock, though since I only made them to be mid calf height, they tend to fall down. As well, my short row heels suck and are holey. I'll do better next time!

2. Hat for Mat (Mat not shown)

Pattern: Cashmere ribbed hat by Fig and Plum
Yarn: Malabrigo Yarn Merino Worsted in color Pearl Ten
Verdict: He likes it a lot, and I love it! Squishy, soft and comfy

3. Fingerless mitts for me

Pattern: Fingerless Mitts from Weekend Knitting
Yarn: Mostly leftover Malabrigo from Mat's hat, ran out halfway through the second mitt and had to buy a second skein, darn!
Verdict: Love them, I've been wearing them constantly

4. Ms Marigold for my sister (also not shown)

Pattern: Ms Marigold from Zephyr Style
Yarn: Knitpicks Elegance in Grass
Verdict: Mixed... I thought the finished product came out well (not evidenced by my hideous photo), but the pattern had no stitch counts and said things like (paraphrasing) pick up stitches all around the neckline, not too many or the ribbing will flare out, not too few or it will bunch! I guess for someone more experienced this might not be a problem, but it really frustrated me and I ended up taking a hiatus during the project when otherwise I would have powered through pretty quickly.

5. Super Easy legwarmer

Pattern: Super easy legwarmers from Last Minute Knitted Gifts
Yarn: Cascade 220 and Madil Yarns Kid Seta, both in light blue
Verdict: Well... there's only one, because I didn't realize when I bought the yarn I was supposed to have two skeins of each... needless to say when I returned to the yarn store they were out of the right colors. Not sure where to go on this one!

6. Tall socks

Pattern: Diana's Knee Highs from Streets and YOs
Yarn: Hand Maiden Casbah in Sangria
Verdict: Really enjoying both the yarn and the pattern. Hopefully I will fix the problems I encountered on the first socks.

7. Hourglass Sweater

Pattern: Hourglass Sweater from Last Minute Knitted Gifts
Yarn: Posh Yarn Helena Aran 4ply in True Love
Verdict: What? What's that you say? That's not a sweater? It's just yarn? Well, progress has been made since that photo, though it's not finished, mostly because I ran out! Sad!!! Dee at Posh has been very kind and put me in touch with someone who might be willing to sell me the only other skein of this yarn in existence right now, wish me luck! Other than that small problem, I am loving both the yarn and the sweater pattern, though I've made quite a few modifications.

Phew, I think that's it. I finished Wisp the night after my last post, eventually blocked it and rehomed it with it's inteded recipient. She seemed to like it quite a bit, which made me feel much better about it!
