Lavender Melody

Friday I finally finished my second Melody Shawl, knit in Malabrigo lace in the colorway Lavanda. Today it's dry and ready for viewing!



I really love these shawls, they're such a perfect no think project. This was my second one, the first was also knit in Malabrigo lace, but in the colorway Rhodesian



(Photo taken before cutting through the fringe). I love knitting stockinette in the round, it is so my happy place. So happy in fact, I've already cast on another one!

Stitch and Pitch

Thursday night in lieu of our normal knit night at Uptown Espresso (Home of the Velvet Foam), I went with some of my knitting girls to Stitch and Pitch at Safeco Field.

This was such a great experience! I loved seeing so many knitters all in one place, and most of the local yarn shops were representing as well! (I did not plan for this, and therefore ended up spending money on yarn that I did not need but immediately fell in love with...mmm Madelinetosh Sock!)

Also, I wore my fresh of the blocking wires Damson and I have to say, if you're ever in need of a confidence boost, wear a finished object knit out of a gorgeous yarn (Malabrigo sock) newly published and hugely popular. I was exclaimed over and petted all night, and it was great!

Unfortunately I did not watch much of the game... :)

Shawlette obsession and a return to blogging?

This summer has been the summer of the shawl for me (and many others on ravelry I've noticed). I've been obsessed and have knit quite a few.

Most recently Damson by Ysolde Teague (which I'm wearing right now to keep the chill off in my cold cold cubicle!)


Before that it was a textured shawl. I think I'll be giving this one to my friend Kisha for her bridal shower this weekend. I love it, but I'm starting to think I may have too many triangular shawls for one person...


Before that it was Clothilde, which was a really fun knit. I ended up giving it to my mom when she came to visit right after her birthday. I always know she'll appreciate my handknits and that's the best kind of person to give them to.


Before Clothilde I made Milkweed which I love and wear all the time. The squishy garter stitch makes it warm and cozy around my neck.


Before Milkweed was a Shetland Triangle for my friend and co-worker Barb. She had asked for a shawl after seeing my Ishbel back in March, with the only requirement that it was black.


I haven't used this blog much (ok at all), but I keep thinking I should try, and after seeing Kiersten's new life in Austin blog (Berry and Bramble)I was feeling inspired. Let's see if it sticks this time!
