Yikes

Wow, yeah... I'm a really inconsistent blogger. No surprise there I guess for anyone that knows me, I seem to have slight commitment issues!

Anyway, I have been knitting albeit at a much slower pace than earlier in the spring and summer.

Last week I finished a Multnomah Shawl in Wool Candy Meringue Merino, a scrummy squishy sock yarn with great colors.
Mine was in the colorway "Ice Cream"

While I like the finished object a lot, I found the pattern a bit unclear in places, especially since I'd never worked feather and fan lace before. It all turned out in the end though!

The weather has turned now, and it's been cold and clear, a nice change from the usual Seattle straight to Winter weather, though I've heard a Pacific front is moving in and we'll be getting wet for the rest of the week. In honor of the cold coming, I made a hat.

Turn a Square Hat

The pattern is Turn a Square by the amazingly talented Jared Flood (aka brooklyntweed). I used the always luscious Malabrigo worsted for the main color and a Fleece Artist test yarn given to me by the owner of my local yarn store, Little Knits. It came out pretty ginormous, and I spent some quality time with the dryer trying to felt and shrink it down so it would fit a normal human being. That said, it'll probably go to Mat for Christmas since he has the biggest head of anyone I know.

Finally, tonight I finished my Daybreak Shawl! This took me forever and a day since I found the striping section a bit boring. I love the colors though and I think the finished product will be really nice!

I haven't taken any finished photos since it hasn't blocked yet, but here's an in progress shot

It's made from Madelinetosh Sock in the colorways Tern and Thunderstorm.

I'm feeling a bit indecisive as to what to start next. I'm still working on the melody shawl I posted about in early September since it's kind of an in between project, but that's not the most exciting thing ever. Guess I'll have to check my queue, it's only a few hundred projects long!
